A two-act play, adapted by Russell Vandenbroucke from two of Truman Capote's short stories, Holiday Memories dramatizes Capote's autobiographical reminisces of his friendship with his elderly cousin, Miss Sook. Set in her rural Alabama household during November and December of 1932, Act I is based on "The Thanksgiving Visitor", Act II is based on "A Christmas Memory".
Malcolm Ruhl's score, which was written for the world premiere production at Northlight Theatre, is designed to be performed live by a pianist.
